J. Douglas Call, C.P., Owner & PractitionerDoug Call is president of Virginia Prosthetics and a certified prosthetist. He joined the company in 1985. Doug is a graduate of Radford University, Radford, Va., and earned his Certificate of Prosthetics from Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago. He is certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, the American Orthotic and Prosthetics Association, the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, the National Rehabilitation Association, and the Virginia Rehabilitation Association. Doug was the leading proponent in the successful effort to pass a bill in Virginia protecting an amputee’s right to obtain adequate health insurance coverage. In addition to his efforts in patient advocacy, Doug is the founding member of the Virginia Orthotic and Prosthetic Association. |

Charlie Coulter, O&P CoordinatorCharlie serves as the liaison between the company and the health care professionals we work with to ensure that they receive the highest levels of service possible and to promote a cohesive team approach to orthotic and prosthetic care. Charlie is a graduate of Roanoke College, who became involved with the O&P industry after losing his leg in a vehicular accident in 1996. His additional responsibilities include providing in-service educational programs, introducing new products, and serving as the main point of contact for suggestions, questions or concerns from our health care industry customers. Charlie also manages our patient satisfaction program and patient advocacy efforts, which include peer and program support as well as legislative initiatives. |

Erik Christensen, CPO, PractitionerErick is a certified prosthetist and orthotist at our Martinsville, VA office and has been in the O&P field since 1998. Erik graduated from the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, with a Bachelor of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Erik’s prior experience includes work in offices and hospitals with concentrations in bone and joint sarcoma, joint viability, physical therapy and a burn and plastics unit. |

Gregory S. Deacon, C.P., PractitionerGreg is a certified prosthetist and joined Virginia Prosthetics in its early years, coming on board in 1973. He is certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association, and the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He earned a B.S. degree from Pembroke State College, Pembroke, S.C., and a Certificate of Prosthetics from New York State University. Greg also sees patients at our Eden, NC, and Reidsville, NC, offices. |

Eric Desarme, BOCP, CPA, CPT, PractitionerEric is a certified prosthetist, registered prosthetic assistant and registered prosthetic technician with 13 years experience in the field. Before coming to Virginia Prosthetics, Eric served at Walter Reed Army Medical Center where he fitted Battle wounded amputees and helped develop advanced activity prosthetic devices and processes. Eric is also a professional physical fitness trainer, which coupled with his experience at Walter Reed Hospital, makes him well suited to working with sports adaptive prosthetic devices. |

Bryan Fuller, C.P.O, PractitionerBryan is a certified orthotist and prosthetist in the company's Charlottesville, Va., office. He joined the company in 2005 and is responsible for all phases of patient management, including developing patient treatment plans, consulting with physicians and therapists, and supervising the fabrication of orthotic and prosthetic devices. A 1991 graduate of New York University where he earned a B.S. in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Bryan was certified as a Prosthetist/Orthotist in 1995 by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics. He has worked in Charlottesville's O & P industry for nearly 12 years. |

Todd Gerl, CO, PractitionerTodd joined Virginia Prosthetics in 1995 as a certified orthotist and has been in the O&P field since 1985, helping improve patients' lives and mobility through the use of orthotics. His specialties include sports orthotics, pediatric orthotics, fracture orthotics and foot orthotics. Todd works closely with Virginia Tech's sports medicine department, and some of his previous experience includes positions in orthotics at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School's Department of Orthotics and Prosthetics. |

Sharidy MacCord, C.P., P.O., PractitionerSharidy joined Virginia Prosthetics in 2007 as a Technician. She is presently board eligible for prosthetics and will finish her orthotic residency at Virginia Prosthetics, where she also completed her prosthetics residency. Sharidy received her O&P training at Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago. Jeff Pullen, CPO, C.Ped, PractitionerJeff Pullen is a certified prosthetist, orthotist and certified pedorthist at our Lynchburg, VA office. Jeff is a graduate of the University of Virginia and earned his professional certifications from Northwestern medical School, Chicago. Jeff has been in the O&P field since 1978 and has been serving patients in the Lynchburg area for over 19 years. In addition to Jeff’s in depth knowledge of prosthetics and orthotics, his experience as a pedorthist makes him especially well suited to evaluate and assist those patients with specific foot concerns that can be treated with custom foot orthotics and custom footwear. |

Norman Olmstead, C. Ped., PractitionerNorman is a certified pedorthist and an orthopedic shoe technician with more than 45 years experience in the field. He joined Virginia Prosthetics in 2005 where he's using his skills and experience to assess, design, manufacture, fit and modify foot appliances and footwear to help patients experiencing painful or debilitating foot conditions. He evaluates the foot's formation, examines the relationship between the foot and shoe, and provides assistance to alleviate conditions resulting from foot abnormalities. Norman represents the fifth generation of his family to be involved in the custom shoe industry. |

Russell Rich, C.P.O., PractitionerRusty is a certified prosthetist and orthotist. He joined Virginia Prosthetics in 1995 and was previously facility manager for Advanced Orthopedic Technologies in Huntington, W.V., and a certified orthotist and orthotic/prosthetic technician in Columbia, S.C. A 1989 graduate of Francis Marion College, Florence, S.C., where he received a B.S. degree, Rusty earned his Certificate of Prosthetics and Orthotics from Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago. Doug lost his leg in a traumatic accident as a child yet he has lived his life without limitations. He has enjoyed doing anything he has wanted including playing on basketball, football, and soccer teams while in school. Robbie Camper, CPA, CPT, Prosthetic TechnicianRobbie joined Virginia Prosthetics in 2007 as a Certified Prosthetic Technician and today is also a Certified Practitioner’s Assistant. His main responsibilities include fabricating sockets for prosthetic patients, assisting practitioners in patient evaluations and alignments, and making prosthetic alternations to ensure proper fitment and alignment. In addition to his prosthetic industry experience, he also has experience in the nuclear medicine field. |
