Prosthetics - Artificial replacement of a limb or other body part.
Orthotics - Science dealing with devices to support or supplement weakend joints or limbs
AK - Above knee
AKP - Above knee prosthesis
BK - Below Knee
BKA - Below knee amputation
BKP - Below knee prosthesis
AFO - Ankle Foot Orthosis
KAFO - Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis
Medial - To the inside
Distal - Away from the trunk
Proximal - Toward the trunk
Superior - Toward the head
Inferior - Away from the head
Anterior - Front
Posterior - Back
