One of Virginia's Oldest and Largest Prosthetic & Orthotic Providers

Fred Murko, CP, PT, ATC, established Virginia Prosthetics and Orthotics in Roanoke in 1966 after he saw a steadily growing need for quality, compassionate care in Southwest Virginia, balanced with the latest technology advancements in the field

  • Our founder, Fred Murko, had an early vision and an unwavering principle of quality patient care. We continue that commitment, and today, Virginia Prosthetics is the largest O&P provider in Virginia with 14 locations throughout Southwest Virginia.

Fred Murko founded Virginia Prosthetics and Orthotics Inc. simply because he saw that area patients were in need. He has served thousands of clients during his long career. In addition to helping improve patients' lives, Fred believed in strengthening the profession, that is still our philosophy today.

CEO - J. Douglas Call, CP

As an ABC-accredited facility in business since 1966, we've led more than 50,000 amputees down the path to recovery, leaving behind the trauma and emotion that new amputees often experience. Whether you're the patient, or it's a loved one facing an amputation, having the support and guidance of someone who's already traveled down the same road makes the journey to recovery that much smoother.

One of the most important decisions any orthotic patient or amputee makes is choosing an O&P provider who can best serve them. There are many O&P companies, but just as in any service profession, some are much better at providing a superior service. Your relationship with your provider will be a lifelong experience and it should be one that instills confidence and satisfaction.

"strengthening our profession is still our philosophy today"
