Virginia Prosthetics and Orthotics is committed to promoting education in the field of orthotics and prosthetics and raising educational standards. Provided you meet the necessary requirements for the position, your resume or application will be forwarded to the designated hiring manager.? The hiring manager will then determine who he or she will contact for a phone or in-person interview.? Unfortunately, we are not able to personally reply to every individual who applies for a position. We receive numerous requests for internships, residencies and opportunities to “shadow”. Before contacting us to request such an opportunity, please read the information below.
Virginia Prosthetics & Orthotics is an approved NCOPE Residency Facility for bona fide O&P students completing their certification requirement for residency. Virginia Prosthetics & Orthotics does make these residency opportunities available when possible and several of our current practitioners were hired upon successful completion of their residency. Due to the volume of requests that we receive, we cannot offer a residency position to everyone who applies. If you are seeking a residency position, please submit our residency application. You can download a copy below.
Virginia Prosthetics & Orthotics is a medical services provider and as such, we strive to maintain a strict policy of patient confidentiality and respect for our patient’s privacy. Additionally, current Federal HIPPA regulations require that we do not allow disclosure of any patient information to anyone not authorized. Because of this, we cannot host “interns” or offer “shadowing”.
Under certain circumstances, Virginia Prosthetics & Orthotics does offer tours of our Roanoke fabrication facility to medical professionals. Please contact Charles Coulter, our O&P Coordinator if your group would like to arrange a tour and brief lecture on current prosthetic and orthotic technology and fabrication.
